To create a new page, you can use either the PeepSo Photos block or the [peepso_photos] shortcode. We recommend using the block since blocks are becoming the standard in WordPress, and shortcodes are gradually being phased out.
After creating the Photos page, you can review PeepSo navigation settings by clicking on the notice “PeepSo can’t locate all required shortcodes” or go to WordPress Admin > PeepSo > Configuration > Navigation & Filters to assign the new page accordingly.

When enabled, the new “Search” tab in PeepSo Configuration appears. Here, you can find and customize the search settings:
Please bear in mind, that the Early Access features will remain enabled even if you deactivate the Early Access plugin. The only way to turn these features off is to disable them in the Early Access plugin settings.
Each feature goes through four stages: “ALPHA”, “BETA”, “RC” (release candidate), and “DONE” (ready for release).
If a feature is supported, you can send community questions and support tickets. But if the feature is not marked as production-ready, it means we can’t guarantee anything – do not install it on your live site, even if it’s supported. In some rare cases, we are not open for feedback as the feature is in a stage too early for that. Such features are clearly marked.
Currently, we are working on:

Most commonly, chat can be initiated by clicking on the chat icon in user profile
Users can also start the chat from members list
When Chat plugin was installed, it created another page as explained in this article.
You can publish that page in the menu and then users can access it to start a new chat.
If the chat is running in the background and minimized, you will hear the sound of a new message, which is enabled by default. There is no setting to disable the sound both on the admin side in the back end and in the user profile settings on the front end.

– without conversion
– on-site conversion with ffmpeg
– off-site conversion with Amazon Transcoder (explained separately here: https://www.peepso.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-amazon-elastic-transcoder-integration/ )
All these three options are mutually exclusive and only one can be enabled at a time.
No-conversion mode is the default for new installs. It requires no additional configuration, but comes with some drawbacks: the uploads are not compressed in any way, so they might affect disk space if user limits are not configured carefully, and only one- MP4 format is officially supported. There is no guarantee that all devices will be capable of playback (especially true for older browsers / operating systems). It basically comes with the same limitations as the native WordPress Media upload/player.
On-site conversion requirements and settings:
To upload a video, go to the activity stream on the community or profile page and press “Post Type” to select “Video”:
The postbox will switch to the options to either link a video from third-party providers or upload it from your computer. Click on the link or icon to upload.
The prompt to select a video file will be show. Locate the video file and select it. Upload should start automatically and when finished, the “Done” message should be displayed under the icon as shown on the image bellow.
All you have to do now is to enter the title, maybe add some description and press “Post” button
The placeholder stream item will be created with the message that video is pending conversion
After cron job is triggered, the video will be converted and available on the site.

Maybe you’re not happy with the translation, maybe translation is in formal format when you need the casual one. Don’t worry, you can make your own translations with the little effort.
Once you download and install PoEdit, open the application and select “Create New Translation”
You might be wondering why not selecting “Translate WordPress theme or plugin” and you’re right, it will be easier to do so, but you’ll need paid version of PoEdit to do this, so we’ll stick with “Create New Translation” in this exercise.
The popup window to select the POT file will now be shown.
Locate the POT file you want to translate and open it. POT files for plugins are always in this location.
ROOT/wp-content/plugins/PLUGIN-NAME/language
Examples:
if you want to translate PeepSo Foundation plugin, then the location would be:
– ROOT/wp-content/plugins/peepso-core/language/peepso-core.pot
If you want to translate Groups plugin, then the location would be
– ROOT/wp-content/plugins/peepso-groups/language/groupso.pot
Once you selected the POT file to translate, PoEdit will ask you what language you want to translate file to. Choose the language and press OK.
Now you are ready to start translating PeepSo to your language.
Enter your translations in a “Translation” box and do this for each string individually
Once you’re done with the translation, save the file. PoEdit will now ask you to name the translated file.
Translations must follow this naming convention:
pluginname-LANGUAGE_CODE.po
Examples:
If you wish to translate peepso-core.pot in German language, the file name will be peepso-core-de_DE.po
If you wish to translate friendso.pot in French language, the file name will be friendso-fr_FR.po
If you wish to translate picso.pot in Spanish language, the file name will be picso-es_ES.po
When you save the file, PoEdit will actually create two files, one with extension po and the other with extension mo
If you are not sure what language code you should be using when saving the file, you can use a very simple trick to learn what is the code you need.
Go to WP Admin -> Settings – General and change the language of your site.
Now take a look into ROOT/wp-content/languages
WordPress should already add some language files with appropriate language codes for selected language.
When you have all po and mo files ready, copy them into
ROOT/wp-content/languages/plugins/
Because each new version of PeepSo and it’s supporting plugins contains a new .POT file, to remain accurate, translation files must be updated with each new release. To update the translation file:
Open your po translation file with PoEdit
Click “Catalog” and then “Update from POT File…”
You will then see a summary of the updates including new strings that have been added and old strings that have will be removed.
Click “OK” to merge the changes into your translation file.
Translate the new strings.
Save the new po and mo files.
